Our amber beer is a reminder of the story of Île-à-Roux. This recounts how, during the prohibition period of 1919, a farmer named Roux, whose land was on the shores of nearby Trois-Lacs, decided to build a clandestine bar on an artificial rock island. The island being under federal jurisdiction, the local “alcohol police” could not operate there. Customers arrived by boat and passed through a hatch to access the bar. Our ‘ Île-à-Roux’ is an Irish Red Ale, with aromas of caramel and biscuit, and just a hint of sweetness.
A bistro-style cuisine featuring regional products and craft beers produced on-site. A friendly place to relax and meet friends, inspired by the industrial past of the Jeffrey Mine.
